Mary’s A Novel In 52 Prompts is one of many incredible resources within her Book Incubator program. This template is easy to understand and follow. I don’t necessarily use every prompt, but I put them all into Scrivener and check in on them when I need a boost.

When I set out to write a novel, I decided to seek out expertise, especially involving pacing and overall development, and I found the answer in Mary’s 52 Prompts. They are not a formula but more of a guide to put your creative ideas into a proper form. I am confident I could write many books using the prompts, and none of my books would appear formulaic, but rather well-structured and developed.

I was STUCK in my writing until I came across Mary's 52 Prompts. They got me unstuck and writing again after years of procrastinating. I finished two books using her prompts and it feels so good to finally have the books out of my head and onto paper.

The Book Incubator’s A Novel in 52 Prompts were key for getting me past my writer’s block when I faced writing my most difficult scenes. The prompts are designed to inspire a writer to use all 52 Prompts to complete a first draft, or as in my case, use any of the prompts in the middle for essential inspiration!

I love the 52 Prompts! They became my go-to tool during my first draft whenever I got stuck. Each prompt is thoughtfully designed to make you think about how your character’s internal journey intertwines with your plot so that one informs the other, giving every scene a definite purpose that is aligned with the heart of your story.

When I was completing my first draft of my first novel, I looked at it and thought, I have no idea what to do next. I turned to the Internet and got lost in a rabbit hole of information. Then I stumbled on Mary's program. In her program, I decided to start a new novel using her Four Notebooks Method…in a brand new genre I never thought I could do. That manuscript landed me a literary agent on the one year anniversary of when I started the program, and now A Deadly Game will be out in December 2023.

I joined The Book Incubator™ after working on my book for eight years, so finishing my first draft this week is a very big milestone for me. I feel connected to the other writers inside the incubator, and consistently showing up to meetings makes my writing more consistent. Thank you for all that you do, Mary, you’re awesome!

I was making very slow progress on my draft and thinking too much about about querying agents while I was still drafting. The Incubator gave me the support I needed to finish my draft. A lot of programs have an overwhelming amount of content, but Mary makes sure she is only giving us valuable lessons and not cutting into precious writing time. The Book Incubator™ was the best investment ever!

When I found Mary, I’d been stuck trying to follow all the traditional plotting methods, which just shut me down. Mary’s approach is different. I’ve learned to trust my intuition and process while working within a loose and supportive structure. Everything about this program has met me where I've needed and helped me to get out of my own way. It has been incredibly empowering.

I have attended so many different types of writing classes, and the Incubator is a different beast. It is a combination of learning, accountability, support, specialized topics, and troubleshooting all in one. Mary's ability to juggle myriad topics and writing issues generated in the sharing section while also having a specific lesson for each meeting makes the time valuable in one form or another for each participant no matter where we are in the writing process.

I was skeptical about joining Mary’s program because I was already a published author with my own habits, but I decided to go in with an open mind and learn her process—and it’s changed the entire way I write. Before working with Mary, I just wrote, but now I have a clear process to follow that works every time.

For the first time in more than a decade, I feel hopeful. Before, I couldn’t get started and keep the momentum going. This program gave me permission to write—to sit down even when I'm having a bad day or there are a million other things to be done. If you’re thinking of giving up on your writing dream, invest in yourself and give this program a chance. I can promise that you won't regret it. This is not just a writing course. It's a course in mining the courage to turn your life around.

I have written more than ever with Mary's Book Incubator™ program. She is accessible and kind and real, but she is also motivating and smart. It's an incredibly refreshing combination. I sometimes look down at my handwritten writing and think, ‘Wow, I can't believe I am actually doing this.’”
